DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales plan goals by product classification, customer and distribution channel

Lead, Manage and Drive overall company sales for maximum volume and profitability

Establish overall company sales goals and strategies

Develop channel and product category sales strategies

Manage the development and execution of effective account specific strategies

Lead effective sales efforts for diversification of distribution, brands and products

Develop sales programs for multiple brands, channels and categories

Analyze, develop and establish sales promotion strategies, pricing and profitability

Develop an exceptional effective internal sales team

Hire, coach, manage, and develop an exceptional team of sales professionals for multiple channel focus

Establish goals, objectives and tools for successful individual metric evaluation

Create a culture of aggressiveness, success, and sales achievement

Establish strong direct customer relationships

Create and develop exceptional direct relationships with account buyers and their superiors

Understand the market position, uniqueness and nuances of each key account

Have direct participation in key account presentations at least once annually

Maximize the performance of external rep groups

Oversee the hiring and management of rep groups for maximum performance

Establish goals, benchmarks and evaluation metrics for rep groups

Provide strategic input in the Product Development Process including

Identification of product opportunities

Development of SMU plans by account

Product line market pricing

Identification of distribution points by brand/Category/Product

Work with product development and marketing to develop a cohesive, effective and successful MARKET FOCUSED team.

Oversee sales based forecasting process

Develop annual sales plan in conjunction with annual business plan

Responsible for development of overall sales program and accountable for any variations to those

Responsible for the liquidation of excess and discontinued inventory

Responsible for any profit variances outside of established program based margins

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

BA degree required, MBA preferred

Consumer product sales experience required, experience in sporting goods preferred

4+ years of senior level sales management experience

Experience leading and managing an entire sales department

Demonstrated ability to drive sales in multiple categories and distribution channels

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute account and product line exceptional sales strategies 

Experience working with and managing external sales representatives is a plus

Experience with mass merchants and National Retail chains

Strong analytical skills required with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Strong financial analysis skills needed

Ability to excel in a team environment required

Must be able to successfully interface with operations, product development, marketing, logistics, and quality departments

Some travel required, including international
