Position Overview: 

The Store Manager is responsible for achieving business development in line with the brand’s strategy, overall management of the store, staff, merchandise and customer service.  The Store Manager is also accountable for achieving sales and operational objectives, building highly motivated teams and developing associates to the best of their abilities and/or next level of their career path within Newell Brands Technical Apparel.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Meets set business goals as defined by corporate.
  • Motivates sales staff to meet assigned sales and productivity goals for their department.
  • Demonstrates sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor.
  • Maintains the highest degree of customer service and store standards every day.
  • Manages the development of store and brand clientele; follow-through with client needs, inquiries and sales opportunities.
  • Directs and assist sales associates with various customer service issues. i.e. dissatisfied customers and returns.
  • Empowers associates to make decisions in the best interest of providing exceptional customer service.
  • Uses the Point of Sale (POS) system and its inventory management functions effectively.
  • Partners with logistics and product teams to ensure appropriate merchandise assortment and quantities.
  • Provides monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports as stipulated by the Corporate office.
  • Creates staff work schedules and ensure appropriate store coverage while achieving payroll budget goals.
  • Maintains good communication with members of corporate offices and other stores.
  • Administer follow-up and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provides training to ensure that retails store employees are proficient in current POS system.
  • Meets inventory accuracy, shrink goals and operational audit requirements.
  • Manages all shipping and receiving practices.
  • Implements and maintains merchandising standards and directives as communicated by corporate.
  • Develops and motivates staff through regular individual and store meetings; administer quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Be involved in store succession planning by training and developing personnel to the best of their abilities and/or the next level.
  • Recruits employment candidates for all levels within the store with qualifications that meet company standards.
  • Leads staff in any necessary relocation of store front and associated equipment, products and supplies which may include movement and assembly of store fixtures.
  • Supervises employees and upholds company policies while adhering to proper procedures regarding disciplinary action.
  • Actively manages professional development.


Basic Qualifications:

  • The ability to pass an airport security background process.
  • A minimum of three years of retail store management, preferably in the active-outdoor industry.
  • A practical knowledge of other functions including sourcing, design, marketing, wholesale sales, merchandising, inventory planning and distribution.
  • Proven self-motivation and capability of working without significant supervision.
  • Prove ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
  • Proficient in all MS programs, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Expected Travel:   Up to 10% of the time.
 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • A passion for Travel and Adventure.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing or related field.
