Job Description

Best-known as the manufacturer of GORE-TEX® fabrics for garments and footwear, Gore manufactures a wide range of high-performance fabrics engineered to protect wearers in demanding environments—from explorers on the North Pole to firefighters, soldiers, and emergency workers. We are looking for a Category Marketer – Big Game to join our team in Bozeman, MT.

 
 
 
You will:
  • Have experience in and excitement for the marketing of high-performance hunting gear
  • Have experience taking consumer insights through the commercialization process and executing multi-channel go to market strategies
  • Be skilled at integrating a diverse group into a cohesive team focused upon achieving a singular objective
  • Be an experienced and passionate Big Game hunter  
Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to hone an in-depth understanding of the Big Game hunting consumer and market
  • Partnering with the Category Product Team to create the 3-year strategic plan for the category, including Annual Marketing Plan (Tactical Activation Plan)
  • Key Stakeholder in creating and implementing (multi-channel) Big Game-focused elements of SITKA®’s Loyalty Business Plan (product, .com, retail, earned and paid media, social, etc.)
  • Aligning internal associates across product, sales, marketing and other cross-functional partners (i.e. serve as a liaison between Product and overall Marketing team ensuring all marketing touch points have the information they need to execute effectively)
  • Developing and implementing new product go-to-market initiatives, including writing briefs, helping to manage the development timeline, and budgets
  • Ensuring authenticity of the SITKA®  brand voice across all consumer touch-points
  • Identifying and managing influential relationships across the Big Game industry, including athletes, conservation organizations, media, and Gore Optifade™ /  Brand partners
  • Continuous tracking of metrics to evaluate SITKA®’s effectiveness in reaching the target segment (consumer research, consumer focus groups, business analysis, etc.)
 


 

 

Qualifications

 
Required Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • An experienced and passionate Big Game hunter
  • At least two years of proven experience leading people and/or projects from ideation through launch
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teaming, influencing, and interpersonal skills proven to effectively collaborate internally and externally
  • Creative, proven self-starter
  • Ability to:
    • Adapt and change direction/approach when necessary  
    • Effectively collaborate internally and externally
    • Navigate early-stage development when working with limited data
    • Work reliably with remote team members
    • Travel up to 30% (hunts, influencer meetings, industry shows, etc.) 
    • Willingness to relocate to Bozeman,MT.
Desired Job Qualifications:
  • Marketing  or Business degree
  • Portfolio of connections within the Big Game industry
  • 3 years of premium brand consumer marketing experience
  • 2 years’ experience as a category marketing manager
  • 2 years’ of digital or content experience
  • Experience leveraging market research, opportunity-assessment tools, project reviews, and stage-gate development processes to critically analyze business opportunities and/or new product/applications
  • Experience creating and executing go-to-market strategies
  • Prior experience:
    • Working with premium consumer goods
    • Developing or marketing technical outerwear
    • Working in the hunting channel
    • Managing external agencies
