Cervelo is searching for a Regional Sales Director-West to plan, direct, and ensure the execution of the North American regional sales, target achievements and sales personnel development. The goal of this role is to meet or exceed established revenue and margin targets for the Western territory of the US. Overall Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Manage 10-15 outside Territory Managers, determine their targets, monitor progress and act as mentor
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with retailer network in Western US region
  • Participate and support Cervelo Leadership Team by providing monthly reports on sales, margin forecasts and recommend action for success
  • Develop and execute annual North American Sales Team strategy by identifying sales targets and implementing a management plan
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management teams by providing input and acting as the direct link to retailers and consumers for Western US region
  • Maintain regular communication with Global Sales Director and other Regional Managers
  • Participate in the development of sales programs, selling terms, sales policies and procedures
  • Support the development and assessment of service of Cervelo customers
  • Negotiate annual targets with retailers
  • Represent the company’s brand and provide product knowledge as required

Competencies and Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a wholesale or specialty distribution company
  • 5+ years of experience in sales management, managing at least 3 remote direct reports
  • 3+ years of experience in the outdoor industry, bicycle industry is preferred
  • Solid understanding of the bicycle industry and the retail channels within
  • Familiarity with the Western US region and retail network within
  • Expert computer skills, experience with Microsoft Great Plains or similar system is required
  • Expert knowledge of bicycle mechanics and bicycle components, avid bicycle rider preferred
  • Ability to manage a virtual team
  • Expert negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet revenue and margin targets
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time (valid passport required)

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.
