Job Description Ptarmigan Sports is currently hiring a full time sales Retail Store Manager . We are looking for an individual that has a love for the outdoors and is dedicated to offering only the highest quality of customer service. This position is responsible for managing all duties associated with apparel, footwear and gear sales, and training for our entire sales team. Store Manager duties will include training, motivating and mentoring while ensuring the highest level of customer service. This position will also oversee all visual merchandising including windows, displays and seasonal store resets. Daily Responsibilities Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and maintaining store staff* Lead by example and model behavior that reflects the company?s core values, and maintain highest level of customer service our clients expect Meeting sales goals by training, motivating, and providing feedback to sales staff Ensure all staff members are properly trained on general sales techniques, product, POS, and all Ptarmigan Sports procedures and policy's Maintain highest profit margins and control daily operating costs Schedule vendor clinics/ training when necessary Maintaining payroll costs effectively, and making day to day staffing adjustments as needed Scheduling (including additional staff for holidays and sales events) Perform employee reviews periodically Conduct all store employee meetings when needed Administrate in store sales contest, vendor promotions Able to maintain strong communication with team at all times Compile and submit bi weekly payroll to accounting, including paid vacation time, and any wage changes, Build/maintain, client, vendor, and rep relationships Ensure daily reconciliation of cash drawers, and perform daily deposits when needed Ensure store is effectively merchandised and well presented at all times Communicate to Owners buyer trends, demands, needs, product fits & feedback Suggest new brands/categories when needed or identified Strategize with owners new opportunities for growth Coordinate vendor/consumer demos and trunk shows for growth opportunities including in store events, and promotions Explore opportunities for community events/sponsorship Perform/administrate/delegate social media marketing opportunities Strategize with Owners in store promotions, seasonal changes, merchandising, and store re-sets Oversee and communicate with receiving, logistics Attend HR training seminars when available Expected to be scheduled 43-45 hrs per week average (more or less as needed seasonally) Qualifications 3-5 years previous Outdoor Retail management required Strong customer service skills Retail Pro v8 POS software experience helpful Motivated self starter with ability to delegate and multi-task Able to work weekends and holidays (Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years) Compensation Very competitive salary 401K opportunity Paid vacation Health Insurance Generous merchandise discounts Test product Housing if needed If Interested, or would like to hear more about this opportunity, please contact Steve or Mary at 970-926-8147.
