JOB PURPOSE 

Work directly with clients to proactively create and implement marketing strategies to grow their bicycle retail businesses. An Account Manager at SmartEtailing becomes an independent marketing manager for up to 12 retail clients, acting in their best interest to grow sales using the SmartEtailing tools and common retail marketing techniques.   

 

REPORTING STRUCTURE 

This position is a part of the ​Marketing Agency​ ​Department​ and position reports to the ​Lead Account Manager​ and has no direct reports.   

 

JOB FUNCTIONS 

Elite Level Account Manager

  • Main point of contact for up to 12 elite marketing clients
  • Perform duties as the contract marketing manager for clients with the primary goals of growing retail sales and improving consumer loyalty
  • Develop marketing plans to grow in-store and online retail sales for clients 
  • Manage implementation of marketing plans Meet weekly and collaborate on an ongoing basis with clients to keep marketing initiatives on schedule and effective 
  • Gather all essential information from clients about business goals and promotional opportunities to effectively support with marketing 
  • Use project tracking system to manage workflow 
  • Provide art direction for Graphic Designers, Strategists, and Front End Developers 
  • Write copy for digital and print marketing deliverables 
  • Track marketing performance, communicate results, develop plans for improvement 
  • Cross-sell complementary services to existing clients 
  • Communicate in an effective, friendly, and timely manner with clients, vendors, and peers 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of marketing and best practices for specialty retailers 
Engaged Member of the Marketing Agency 
 
  • Participate in team meetings and make a meaningful contribution 
  • Collaborate on developing broad marketing initiatives and content 
  • Delegate work to the Graphic Designers, Strategists, and Front End Developers to complete projects in a streamlined manner 
  • Maintain active relationships with other account managers and account coordinators to better understand how to solve problems for clients Contribute ideas for improving marketing’s impact on retail performance 
  • Partner with account coordinators on assigned accounts to ensure all work is being completed and communicated to clients    This is not a comprehensive list of possible responsibilities, tasks and duties. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent experience  
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a marketing professional at an agency or business 
  • Account management and sales experience strongly preferred 
  • Understanding of marketing trends and best practices 
  • Self-motivated with a positive and enthusiastic attitude for work 
  • Retail work experience preferred 
  • Passion for and knowledge of cycling is a plus 
  • Organized and proficient at managing overlapping projects in a detail oriented manner 
  • Skill in scheduling and managing multiple meetings a day in professional environment 
  • Proven experience in collaborating with others in a professional environment 
  • Hard-working, creative and eager to learn and expand knowledge of online direct marketing 
  • Understands, interprets, and implements feedback effectively 
  • Limited domestic travel may be required 
  • Valid state driver's license is required
  • Fun and friendly
