The In-Store Sales Associate with Down River Equipment is an important and multi-facet position.  We are looking for a candidate with a passion for river sports, an outgoing personality and a positive attitude. The working environment at Down River Equipment is energetic and fast-paced, especially during the Spring and Summer.  Successful staff members thrive in that environment by being self-motivated and by working with existing team members to develop effective communication and organizational skills.  With training provided by Down River Equipment, The In-Store Sales Associate will develop a keen understanding of the features and benefits of the multitude of products we manufacturer and sell.

 

Main responsibilities include clearly and effectively communicating with customers in-order to provide the best customer service in the industry.  This position will regularly interact with customers to help them understand the features and benefits of products as well as offer advice on various river trip logistic questions.  Other daily responsibilities include keeping the retail store clean, final assembly of some Down River Equipment branded products, decanting of glues and solvents, and backing up the warehouse staff.  This position can also have direct input on marketing campaigns, store layout, Down River sponsored events, and product development.  You should be able to lift 50 pounds and be comfortable working on web-based and Microsoft computer programs.

 

Although not required, a background in sales and specifically, retail sales is valuable.  Experience rafting, kayaking, or standup paddling is also extremely beneficial.  We are willing to train a trustworthy candidate that displays the right temperament and personality for this position but lacks some of the desired experience.
