Strider is looking for someone to help facilitate bringing world-class Strider events to world-class venues throughout the US. Having a great attitude, being highly organized and energetic are a must.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for what we do and the desire to create awesome riding experiences for 2-6 year-old children and their families.

Summary:

Strider is seeking an Events Specialist to coordinate, manage and execute various types of Strider events.  Most notably the world- famous Strider Cup races held around the country each year.  This role will include working with the Events Manager to secure venues, planning and organizing of the course materials and layout, travel to the events, course set up, and training of event staff.  Responsible for full on-site activation as well as being the “face of Strider” while at the event.  The ideal candidate will be both organized and analytical, willing to learn, have fun, work hard and get dirty---all in an effort to “inspire a love for riding”.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Strider
  • Effectively manage a team of 12 to 20 temporary staff at each activation
  • Work collaboratively with the Sponsorship and Marketing team to ensure the best event possible
  • Work closely with the event manager to assist with securing venues, managing resources, event planning and travel booking
  • Independently manage all hands-on, day-of details of an event activation such as track and obstacle execution, staffing, customer interaction, safety concerns and consistency of brand exposure.
  • Work as the liaison with the venue manager day of the event
  • Function as the on-site final decision maker the day of the event

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • A knowledge of Strider and the market we serve
  • Be able to prioritize and complete projects under tight deadlines and work with several different departments
  • Highly organized, energetic and the ability to multitask
  • Have previous event management experience
  • Able to travel and work long hours
  • During events, work hours are outdoors and take place in potential extreme weather conditions
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills

Physical Demands:

·        Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 lbs

·        Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time using a phone, computer keyboard and monitor

·        Must be able to travel freely throughout the US and willing to assist with after hour/weekend events

·        Must possess a valid drivers’ license w/no issues of insurability

 

Location and hours:

·        This position is in Rapid City, SD

·        Regular office hours are Mon-Fri 8 am to 5 pm

·       Travel of up to 20% of your time and occasional support of weekend events should be anticipated

 

Pay:

            $40 to $54k depending upon experience

This position reports to the Events Manager.
