Position Overview

The position of Basecamp Supervisor is multifaceted in an ever changing, fast paced work environment. The desired applicant would be a fast learner looking to gain professional experience and opportunity to grow. This position will be responsible for the following tasks as well as other assigned projects:            

Customer Service
  • Provides excellent level of customer service to patrons
  • Knowledgeable of products specifications and purpose
  • Provides accurate information regarding products and local trail conditions etc.
  • Processes transactions at store register using POS
  • Ensure customer complaints are dealt with in accordance with company policies

Online Inventory  

  • Updates online inventory to reflect flow of inventory in and out of the business   
  • Sources, edits, and uploads content to user website
Order Fulfillment  
  • Processes online orders through store inventory/POS system
  • Ships orders using various carrier shipping applications  
  • Knowledgeable of products specifications and purpose (alternatives to products etc.)  
  • Responds to customer inquiries and provides accurate information regarding products
  •  Ensure that all customer orders are processed as quickly as possible and communicates with customers regarding delivery times and special requests etc.

In store inventory

  • Receives, inventories and processes all purchase orders
  • Completes regular cycle counts of brands and products
  • Fluent in company policy regarding Special Orders and Back Orders
  • Completes stock checks and provides information to management for stock needs
  • Maintains the store merchandising standards

Daily Operations

  •         Ensures the appropriate level of shop floor coverage during the working day
  •         Provides support to other staff during their shift
  •         Promotes good working practices with all staff
  •         Responsible for the daily organization and monitoring of customer service
  •         Ensures staff takes lunch breaks and arrives/leaves work in a timely manner
  •         Solicits co-workers to work towards common goals i.e. projects
  •         Assists in decision making in the absence of the Store Manager
  •         Communicates with upper management any topics of importance, including general updates
  •         Ensures all work areas are kept cleanly and organized

  Job Requirements

  • College Graduate in business or similar- or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Primarily Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Interest in mountaineering or climbing
  • Must be able to lift approx. 50lbs

  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical abilities
  • Pleasant and calm demeanor in high stress situations and when handling customer complaints
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and demonstrated passion for excellence
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment
  • 1-2 years of experience with inventory systems
  • Experience with a Point of Sale considered a plus

Full Time: 40 Hours/week
